Role overview

This full-time Treasurer position is based in Accra and follows a hybrid working model, with the option to work from home part of the time. The selected person will manage the organization’s day-to-day finances, including budget preparation and tracking, monitoring income and spending, and keeping accurate financial records for the community and label operations.

What the role involves

You will oversee accounts payable and receivable, complete bank reconciliations, and help ensure payments to collaborators, vendors, and event partners are made on time. You will also produce regular financial updates for leadership, support financial planning for projects and events, and help maintain sound financial controls while staying compliant with relevant regulations. In addition, you will work closely with other team members on funding efforts, sponsorship opportunities, and long-term financial sustainability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with financial administration, including budgeting, forecasting, and tracking expenses.
• Comfort using accounting tools such as spreadsheets and basic bookkeeping software.
• Working knowledge of financial statements, reconciliations, and internal control practices.
• Ability to analyze financial information and explain it clearly to people without a finance background.
• Strong attention to detail, good organization, and the ability to juggle several priorities.
• Effective written and spoken communication skills, along with a cooperative approach.
• Experience in nonprofit settings, community groups, or music/creative industries is beneficial.
• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Comfort working in a hybrid setup in Accra, with some remote work as required.
