Role overview
The Supply Chain Analyst supports the smooth and efficient movement of materials, goods, and information across the supply chain. The role centers on reviewing data, spotting trends, reducing operational costs, and helping the business improve service quality and overall effectiveness.
Key responsibilities
You will collect and interpret information across procurement, inventory, warehousing, transport, production planning, distribution, and supplier performance to understand what is working well and where improvements are needed.
The role includes building reports, dashboards, and performance measures that improve visibility into supply chain activity and help teams make better decisions. You will also identify delays, bottlenecks, process gaps, and other inefficiencies, then recommend practical ways to improve productivity and resource use.
Another important part of the job is supporting forecasting and demand planning through analysis of historical performance, market movement, and operational needs to improve stock accuracy and product availability.
You will work closely with procurement, operations, manufacturing, logistics, and finance teams to ensure supply chain plans align with business targets and customer expectations. The role also involves tracking inventory, reviewing supplier performance, measuring transportation efficiency, and highlighting possible supply chain risks.
In addition, you will take part in improvement projects, cost-saving initiatives, and optimization programs, while maintaining reliable data, accurate reporting, and support for supply chain systems and technology implementation. The position also contributes insights for strategic planning and long-term supply chain improvement.
Requirements
Applicants should have a strong grasp of supply chain fundamentals, including procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, transportation, demand planning, and distribution. A good understanding of how end-to-end supply chain processes affect business performance is important.
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability is required, along with the skill to collect, organize, interpret, and present complex data in a clear and useful way. Accuracy, numerical thinking, and attention to detail are essential when assessing operational performance and improvement opportunities.
Proficiency with spreadsheets, reporting tools, data analysis platforms, and business intelligence software is highly useful. Familiarity with ERP systems, supply chain management tools, and data visualization applications is considered an advantage.
Knowledge of forecasting methods, inventory optimization, KPI tracking, and supply chain analytics will help in this role. Candidates should also be able to communicate effectively, work well with different teams, and turn findings into practical recommendations.
Strong planning and coordination skills are important because the role may require handling several priorities and supporting multiple operational initiatives at the same time. A proactive mindset, adaptability, critical thinking, and a commitment to ongoing improvement are also expected.
Additional information
This position calls for a person who can work independently, maintain high data accuracy, and contribute meaningfully to strategic supply chain initiatives that support operational and business goals.
