Specialist - Engineering Systems

Role Overview

This position is responsible for overseeing and improving the engineering technology environment, including platforms such as AMOS, Airvault, RFID Aero Check, Aero Track, ATS, and MDM AirWatch. The role focuses on keeping these systems running effectively, expanding their usefulness, and aligning them with engineering and maintenance needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep engineering systems running reliably and ensure the business is using their full available capability.
• Handle service requests and change requests together with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Review current ways of working and introduce process changes that fit the systems more effectively.
• Oversee testing and user acceptance for system updates, new releases, and patches.
• Serve as the main contact for future development of the business intelligence environment.
• Act as the owner for engineering iPads, including policy creation, app version control, and review and publishing of new applications in AirWatch mobile device management.
• Lead technology development initiatives for engineering and maintenance, such as iPad applications for line maintenance, RFID solutions, and e-signature tools.
• Map business processes and identify the best approach for implementing changes across engineering and maintenance.
• Gather reporting needs from engineering and maintenance teams and assess solutions for report development.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and other external partners.
• Develop AMOS training materials for engineering teams and deliver training when needed.
• Perform routine upkeep and upgrades for engineering systems, covering software, hardware, and databases.
• Work with IT teams to ensure engineering systems integrate smoothly with the wider technology landscape.
• Run training sessions and workshops to help end users understand and use the systems properly.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a similar field. The role also requires fluent English and 8 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Information Security Responsibilities

The selected candidate must follow the company’s information security and risk policies, promptly report any weaknesses or incidents to the relevant manager or information security team, complete all required security awareness training, and apply the associated guidelines in daily work.
