What the Role Involves
As a Social Care Worker, you will deliver person-centred support in a residential home supporting up to four residents. Your work will help residents strengthen independence, daily living abilities, and community participation while ensuring they are cared for in a respectful and empowering environment.
Key Duties
- Provide tailored support that encourages independence, self-care, and practical life skills.
- Support residents to take part in community life, including appointments, social activities, recreational outings, and family visits.
- Assist with everyday household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and general domestic duties while protecting dignity and choice.
- Work with a multidisciplinary team to plan, document, review, and track care plans and individual outcomes.
- Keep clear and accurate records using digital tools and required documentation processes.
- Follow HIQA standards, safeguarding requirements, health and safety procedures, and best-practice guidance at all times.
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and empowering living environment for residents.

Requirements
To be considered, you should bring a professional, compassionate, and flexible approach to residential care, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A recognised qualification in Social Care, Health Care, or a related field at QQI Level 7 or above, or an equivalent qualification.
- Current CORU registration or evidence that an application is in progress.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to plan, record, and report clearly.
- Confidence using IT systems for care records and documentation.
- A full, clean driving licence.
- Good knowledge of residential care standards, residents’ rights, and safeguarding expectations.
- Legal permission to work in Ireland.
- Successful Garda Vetting.
- A respectful, empathetic, adaptable, and proactive working style.
Salary and Employment Details
The salary range for this position is €35,490 to €38,532, depending on experience.
