Role Overview
The company is hiring a Service Advisor to join its Calgary team. This role is best suited to someone with a strong interest in the automotive field and a desire to contribute to a growing, customer-focused operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, collect the necessary details, and determine what repair or maintenance work the vehicle needs.
- Guide customers on maintenance timelines, explain manufacturer-recommended servicing, and present both factory and aftermarket warranty details. Recommend extra services based on vehicle age, mileage, and service history, while also informing the finance team about warranty expiry timing.
- Create and finalize repair orders by checking customer details, preferred contact method, vehicle information, concerns, cost estimates, vehicle walk-arounds, open recalls or campaigns, and the expected completion timeline.
- Secure pre-approval for costs, parts availability, and payment arrangements.
- Confirm the extent of warranty coverage before work begins and ensure the necessary approvals are in place.
- Track repair progress and provide regular updates to customers about their vehicle status.
- Monitor monthly CSI results and day-to-day performance.
- Use CDK and Dealer-FX for all customer-pay repair orders and place parts orders accurately.
- Explain the scope of work and associated charges clearly to the customer.
- Handle additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Service Advisor in the automotive industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a clear focus on customer service.
- Ability to understand how customers describe vehicle issues and convert that information into precise instructions for technicians.
- Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
- Comfortable addressing customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
- Good knowledge of the brand, routine maintenance, and warranty requirements.
- Computer-literate and able to work with different software systems and learn new tools quickly.
- Experience with CDK and/or Dealer-FX would be an advantage.
- Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
