Senior Scrum Master

Role overview

This opportunity is for a Senior Scrum Master supporting a long-running daily-rate assignment in Dublin city centre. The role sits within the Unify team and supports a major Dynamics 365 delivery. Hybrid working is available.

The position is focused on helping the team deliver value through Agile and Scrum practices. You will act as a coach, facilitator, and support for the team, ensuring Scrum is applied consistently across both the team and the wider organisation. A strong emphasis is placed on team performance, continuous improvement, and predictable delivery.

Agile delivery and Scrum facilitation

• Lead core Scrum events such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Keep ceremonies focused, efficient, within time limits, and geared toward clear outcomes.
• Support the team in maintaining a steady sprint flow and reliable delivery rhythm.

Team coaching and capability building

• Coach team members on Agile values, principles, and Scrum working practices.
• Encourage self-organisation and strong cross-functional collaboration.
• Help the team grow in maturity and delivery effectiveness through mentoring.
• Promote ongoing learning and a culture of continuous improvement.

Delivery support and blocker management

• Spot and clear impediments that slow down team progress.
• Coordinate risks, dependencies, and resource needs across the team.
• Protect the team from avoidable distractions and interruptions.
• Help the team consistently reach sprint goals.
• Be accountable for delivery outcomes, with attention to scope, schedule, and quality expectations.

Stakeholder collaboration

• Partner with the Product Owner on backlog refinement and prioritisation.
• Work closely with delivery teams, technical teams, and broader stakeholders.
• Support clear communication and alignment across groups.
• Help ensure the backlog remains ready and requirements are well understood.

Governance, transparency, and improvement

• Use agile metrics to make progress and delivery trends visible.
• Drive process improvements through retrospectives and operational refinement.
• Assess Scrum maturity within the team and help move it forward.
• Encourage consistent use of Agile standards and proven practices.

Required capability

The ideal candidate will have a solid command of the Scrum framework and Agile principles, along with practical experience applying Scrum in delivery environments. You should be comfortable leading ceremonies, coaching without formal authority, and helping teams stay focused on outcomes.

Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the role involves conflict resolution, stakeholder engagement, and working across cross-functional teams. You should also be confident in removing blockers, balancing priorities, and keeping delivery moving at a steady pace.

Desirable experience

• Scrum certification such as CSM or PSM.
• Experience with Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Exposure to scaling Agile across programmes or multiple teams.

Additional information

This is a long-term contract role in Dublin city centre. The work arrangement is hybrid.
