Role overview
This position is responsible for running the welcome desk smoothly and efficiently so that members receive a strong first impression and overall satisfaction remains high. The role also requires a readiness to lead group exercise classes when needed.
Key responsibilities
- Support club administration whenever required.
- Handle cash-related tasks accurately and responsibly.
- Maintain effective communication with both members and internal staff.
- Oversee receptionist operations and guide the reception team.
- Monitor access and override activity for staff and members.
- Manage reception stock and related supplies.
- Address and resolve member complaints professionally.
- Provide training to reception staff.
Experience and competencies
- Capable of inspiring staff and leading by example.
- Strong administrative precision and attention to detail.
- Friendly, efficient, and aligned with the Planet Fitness service style.
- Demonstrates a high standard of honesty and integrity.
- Strong communication ability across all levels of interaction.
- Comfortable using computers at an intermediate level.
- Willing and able to work rotational shifts.
- Energetic and able to maintain a high level of drive throughout the day.
- Front desk or welcome desk experience is advantageous.
- Experience in staff management, planning, organising, conflict resolution, and problem solving is important.
- Reliable transport is required.
