Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Islamabad for a Quantity Surveyor. The person in this role will be responsible for monitoring and controlling project costs across construction work, preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs), developing project budgets, and maintaining cost discipline throughout the full project cycle. The role also involves producing and reviewing cost reports, identifying opportunities to reduce or optimize expenses, and advising on budget-related decisions. Close coordination with project teams, architects, and contractors is essential to support efficient and economical project delivery.
Core Responsibilities
- Track and manage construction-related costs throughout the life of each project.
- Prepare accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and maintain them as project requirements evolve.
- Develop project budgets and assist in cost planning activities.
- Monitor expenditure to ensure spending remains within approved limits.
- Compile, review, and analyze cost reports to support decision-making.
- Suggest practical ways to improve cost efficiency and optimize project spend.
- Provide guidance on budget management and cost control matters.
- Work closely with project teams, architects, and contractors to keep work aligned with financial targets.
Required Qualifications
- Strong capability in cost control, cost management, and cost planning.
- Hands-on experience with BOQ preparation and maintenance.
- Ability to prepare and analyze cost reports with a focus on project efficiency.
- Excellent analytical ability and careful attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with multiple stakeholders.
- Comfort using MS Excel and cost estimation tools/software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Prior exposure to construction or a similar industry is considered beneficial.
