Role overview
The company is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to be based mainly in Dublin, with responsibility for projects across mainland Europe. The role involves monthly travel to project sites, typically for trips lasting 3 to 5 days.
Key responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor will handle the commercial and surveying side of projects, including contract budgeting, reporting, risk control, and stakeholder coordination.
Project and commercial duties
- Prepare and maintain the contract budget throughout the project.
- Oversee contractual and legal matters connected to the project.
- Work closely with the Surveying Manager.
- Maintain accurate contract administration records.
- Compile monthly JCRs and JCSs.
- Attend contractor handover meetings.
- Take part in bi-weekly contract review meetings.
- Track cash flow updates and collection progress.
- Identify project risks and support the risk management plan.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and the wider professional team.
Required background and knowledge
Candidates should have strong knowledge of construction methods, measurement and valuation, and commercial reporting. The role also requires a solid understanding of subcontract and material ordering, procurement processes, contract forms, and general construction industry practices, including health and safety and quality procedures.
Experience requirement
Applicants need more than five years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor. Experience in industrial fit-out projects is preferred but not mandatory.
