- Help with procurement and contract administration tasks such as preparing tender documents, reviewing contractor submissions, measuring work, and supporting valuations.
- Contribute to cost monitoring and commercial reporting by preparing updates, forecasts, and financial summaries for project control.
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams and participate in meetings, site visits, and workshops to understand delivery requirements, stakeholder expectations, and commercial priorities.
- Build practical knowledge of construction contracts such as NEC, Public Works Contracts, and FIDIC while supporting senior team members and keeping project records accurate.
- Mentor junior colleagues where appropriate and contribute to improving procurement approaches and commercial practices.
Requirements
- A qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a similar discipline, with early-career experience considered an advantage.
- A basic grasp of cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
- A strong interest in developing technical and commercial capability through hands-on project exposure.
- Good numerical, analytical, and organisational ability, with careful attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.
- Familiarity with MS Office and an interest in learning estimating tools such as CostX and CostOS.
Perks and benefits
- Ongoing learning, training, and mentorship to support professional development and career progression.
- Opportunities to work with colleagues across Arup’s global network and take on short- or long-term assignments at other offices or project locations.
- A competitive salary and benefits package, plus participation in Arup’s global profit-sharing programme.
- A supportive culture focused on care, inclusion, collaboration, mental health, social connection, and belonging.
- Access to meaningful work within a purpose-led, trust-owned organisation.
