Role overview
VisionGroup is hiring a practical, hands-on Prompt Engineer / Workflow Automation specialist to build, refine, and tune prompts that produce strong AI responses across chatbots, outbound calling bots, AI assistants, and business process automations. The role blends language craft, experimentation, and technical problem-solving to support AI systems that are accurate, efficient, and dependable at scale.
The right person will be comfortable working at the intersection of business workflows and model behaviour, turning real-world use cases into structured prompts, reusable templates, and interaction designs that improve usability and consistency.
Prompt engineering and conversational AI
- Create, test, and continually improve prompts for LLM-powered products such as chatbots, AI assistants, and outbound AI callbots.
- Build prompt structures that support multiple languages and clear conversation flow control.
- Raise answer quality, reduce response delays, and prepare fallback handling for weak or unexpected outputs.
- Design approaches for objection handling, intent detection, and outcome-based conversations.
- Run A/B experiments to measure prompt performance and user engagement.
Workflow automation and integration
- Plan and design complete automation journeys such as CRM to bot, bot to dashboard, and email/SMS to reporting.
- Set up AI agent behaviour, outbound actions, and trigger-based automation logic such as callbacks.
- Work with integration layers and systems including CRMs such as HubSpot, email tools, dashboards, and API endpoints.
- Configure knowledge bases and dynamic variables for automation flows.
- Apply role-based access controls wherever the setup requires it.
Testing and quality assurance
- Create test cases covering standard paths, edge cases, language changes, unsupported languages, DND handling, and callback logic.
- Perform user acceptance testing and validate the system before it goes live.
- Check that call status classifications such as Interested, Not Interested, and SC-Callback are being captured correctly.
- Find and troubleshoot issues such as slow responses, wrong tagging, or failed data pushes.
- Make sure conversation summaries are sent accurately into the CRM.
Monitoring and optimization
- Review engagement metrics, call outcomes, and dashboard analytics to evaluate system performance.
- Study transcripts and conversation results to refine bot flows and improve outcomes.
- Tune automation logic so it can scale reliably.
- Partner with DevOps and engineering teams during deployment across development, staging, and production environments.
Documentation and communication
- Document the solution design and scope-of-work elements clearly.
- Prepare demo walkthroughs that show the full process from data intake to setup, engagement, and dashboard reporting.
- Convert business requirements into practical technical implementation plans.
- Share concise post-launch summaries and status reports with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on prompt engineering skills for LLM-based systems such as ChatGPT and Claude.
- Experience designing conversational AI flows.
- Working knowledge of automation platforms such as Zapier, Make, n8n, or similar custom systems.
- Understanding of CRM integrations, with HubSpot preferred.
- Familiarity with APIs, including REST APIs and webhooks.
- Basic exposure to cloud infrastructure; AWS knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to build and follow structured testing practices, including UAT and edge-case validation.
- Capability to translate business problems into AI-driven workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving approach.
- Experience improving processes through automation efficiency and data-led optimisation.
- Understanding of call flow behaviour and objection-handling logic.
- Preferred background in AI callbots, outbound automation, multilingual AI systems, dashboards, or product/automation/digital transformation work.
Additional information
This position is based in Sri Lanka and is a full-time onsite role. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working closely with business and technical teams to deliver scalable AI workflow solutions.
