Production Technician

Role overview

Dyno Nobel is hiring a Production Technician for its Moranbah site in Central Queensland. The plant is a fully integrated ammonium nitrate complex that includes ammonia, nitric acid and ammonium nitrate production, along with supporting utilities, power generation and accommodation for the permanent workforce.

Working arrangement and pay

This is an on-site full-time position with a highly preferred even-time roster option, including 5/5, 4/5 and 5/4 patterns. The package includes a salary of $110,200 plus superannuation, relocation support to Moranbah, family-friendly housing and a $28,500 location allowance. The role also offers career development and progression opportunities.

Key duties

You will report to the Emulsion Team Leader and work within a team to meet safety, production and quality targets. The job calls for practical problem-solving across site departments, input into continuous improvement, and day-to-day plant monitoring and support.

• Gather samples and complete basic analysis work.
• Keep a shift log covering plant condition, process settings, key parameters and equipment availability.
• Watch plant performance and step in when needed.
• Carry out minor plant and equipment maintenance when competent, and support maintenance work that helps restart operations quickly.
• Help with plant start-up and shutdown activities when required.
• Take part in safety programs and ongoing improvement efforts.
• Perform basic tests that support process control and help maintain quality and service standards.
• Work with truck drivers during loading and unloading activities.
• Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience in a continuous production setting, preferably in heavy manufacturing, ammonia production or a similar hydrocarbon processing environment. You should be safety-minded, customer-focused, results-driven and keen to grow within the business.
