Role Overview
Budgy Smuggler is seeking a detail-focused Production & Inventory Coordinator to support its Sydney-based operations. The position is centred around local manufacturing, supply chain coordination, and inventory oversight across the company’s Brookvale headquarters and St. Peters factory.
The brand is proudly Australian-made and produces swimwear and apparel designed to reflect the Aussie lifestyle. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-moving environment, takes ownership of operational details, and is comfortable working across production, logistics, customer updates, and internal coordination.
Location: Brookvale (HQ) & St. Peters (Factory), Sydney, NSW
Work type: Full-time
Reporting to: Supply Chain & Logistics Manager
What the Role Involves
You will be responsible for keeping production on track, maintaining visibility across order progress, and ensuring that the company’s Australian-made products meet quality expectations and turnaround commitments. The role connects manufacturers, designers, logistics, customer service, and marketing so that operations run smoothly from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage production timelines for custom, DIY, and stock swimwear orders, including turnaround windows as short as 10 to 20 days.
- Coordinate with local manufacturers to confirm schedules, monitor progress, and resolve any delays or issues that arise.
- Carry out quality checks before and after production to make sure finished goods align with Budgy Smuggler’s standards.
- Oversee inventory-related tasks such as maintaining Shopify product listings, handling barcodes, and tracking supplies to prevent production stoppages.
- Serve as the main point of contact for customer service and internal teams seeking order status updates, visibility, and process improvements.
- Prepare regular progress reports for the Supply Chain Manager and Marketing Team covering production status, stock levels, and product performance.
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in production coordination, supply chain operations, or a similar field, along with strong organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience in apparel or swimwear is an advantage, but not required.
This role also suits someone who is dependable, highly accurate, comfortable working across multiple priorities, and confident using business and inventory systems.
Required Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in production coordination, supply chain, or a closely related role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines at once.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when dealing with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and inventory or supply chain management tools.
- A proactive, practical approach to solving problems and keeping operations moving.
- A reliable work style suited to a role where consistency matters.
Preferred Background
- A qualification in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience within fashion or retail would be an added advantage.
