Role Overview

This position sits within MakeMyTrip’s Product Management function at Deputy Manager level and is based in Bangalore, reporting to the VP - Technology.

About the Team

The Personalization & Data Platforms group is focused on building the next wave of AI-led customer experience infrastructure. The team creates platforms that support real-time, tailored communication throughout the traveller lifecycle — from initial inspiration and search to post-trip engagement.

With a large daily audience across app and web, personalization is treated as a core business growth driver rather than a standalone feature. The work involves rethinking travel experiences through data, automation, platform thinking, and GenAI-powered systems operating at scale.

Role Summary

The Product Manager will design and scale personalization and lifecycle marketing platforms, converting business opportunities into AI-enabled, production-ready solutions. The main focus is to build systems that support individualized journeys, cross-sell outcomes, and ongoing customer engagement.

This is a cross-functional product role that blends MarTech, data platforms, and AI systems. It also requires B2B2C thinking, where internal teams are the primary users of the platform and end customers benefit from the resulting experiences. The role spans both zero-to-one creation and scaling existing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Spot high-value opportunities across the customer lifecycle and shape them into scalable product initiatives.
  • Frame strong hypotheses, define success measures, and choose solution paths based on both business and user needs.
  • Lead fast prototyping and validation cycles, including AI-assisted experiences, before committing to full development.
  • Partner with engineering and data science to architect systems, data pipelines, and production-grade solutions while balancing speed and scalability.
  • Develop and expand real-time personalization capabilities using data, rule engines, and AI/GenAI models.
  • Design and run experiments such as A/B tests and iterative improvements to raise performance.
  • Create methods to assess and improve the quality of AI/GenAI outputs.
  • Build reusable tools and workflows for internal teams instead of creating isolated one-off solutions.
  • Own execution from concept through delivery and iteration.
  • Track outcomes and improve conversion, engagement, and adoption metrics.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should be management graduates with an engineering background from reputed or premier institutes, and must have 2 to 4 years of product management experience.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Prior growth product management experience, preferably in an e-commerce environment.
  • Strong comfort with analytics and experimentation-focused data.

  • Good command over data, including SQL basics and metric-led decision making.
  • Hands-on experience working with engineering and data science teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to move AI/ML/GenAI ideas from concept to live production, including evaluation, handling edge cases, and iteration.

  • Background in MarTech, CRM, or AdTech platforms.
