İş tanımı

Role overview

This New York-based, on-site Private Equity Associate position offers a broad, hands-on opportunity to work across the full deal lifecycle. The role is designed for someone who can contribute from early-stage evaluation through transaction execution and ongoing portfolio support, while also helping strengthen internal firm processes. You’ll partner with experienced investment professionals and operators focused on lower-middle-market enterprise software and services businesses.

What you will do

  • Create and update detailed financial models for potential investments, including leveraged buyout analyses and operating projections.
  • Carry out initial reviews of target companies by assessing market size, competition, financial performance, and overall strategic alignment.
  • Draft investment screening materials and share key takeaways with the investment team.
  • Own major parts of due diligence workstreams to develop a thorough view of a company’s business, product, market, leadership, and operations.
  • Liaise with outside advisors such as legal counsel, accountants, consultants, and sector specialists during active deals.
  • Assemble investment committee decks, memoranda, and related supporting materials.
  • Help shape deal terms, prepare transaction documents, and assist in negotiations.
  • Work with portfolio company leadership after closing to improve operations, support acquisition activity, and track performance metrics.
  • Contribute to internal projects that improve processes and expand institutional knowledge across the firm.

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years of experience in investment banking or accounting, or a minimum of 1 year in private equity investing; this requirement is mandatory.
  • Strong command of financial analysis and modeling, including the ability to build LBO and operating models.
  • Proven experience performing due diligence and turning complex information into clear investment recommendations.
  • Excellent planning, organization, ownership, and communication skills.
  • A bachelor’s degree from a highly regarded university, backed by a strong academic track record.
  • Preferred exposure to buyout transactions in software, technology, or tech-enabled services businesses.
  • Ability to develop trusted working relationships with management teams, advisors, and deal intermediaries.
  • Experience contributing to operational improvement or value creation work after an acquisition is a plus.
  • Background supporting M&A work such as target sourcing and integration planning is desirable.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and knowledge management systems in a private equity setting is helpful.

Additional information

This role is focused on lower-middle-market enterprise software and services investing and provides direct exposure to investment evaluation, execution, and portfolio management. It is intended for candidates who can operate with a high degree of ownership and contribute meaningfully to firm-building initiatives.
