Powertrain Component Cleaner (Prewash) - Level 1

Role Overview

OEM Remanufacturing Company Inc. is hiring a permanent Prewash Component Cleaner to support the pre-wash area of the department in Edmonton, Alberta. In this role, you will handle the cleaning and movement of incoming cores and components so they are ready for inspection, quoting, and assembly. You will also contribute to contamination control by keeping your work area clean and assisting with housekeeping tasks.

Key Duties

• Prepare parts properly for cleaning by sealing openings and applying other protective steps.
• Use a high-pressure washer to clean components.
• Perform mart, caustic, and/or acid washing on different product types while avoiding damage.
• Move incoming cores and parts as needed to support workflow in the pre-wash area.
• Help maintain cleanliness and support contamination-control practices in the work area.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Internal candidates must have at least 6 months of experience at Wage Grade 1 or higher.
• You should be organized and able to follow work directions carefully.
• Ability to lift and manage materials weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis is required.
• A mechanical background or aptitude is preferred.
• You must communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
• Prior experience with component cleaning and high-pressure washing is preferred.
• Experience in a heavy-duty equipment facility is an asset.
• You must be able to pass a fit test and wear a respirator as a condition of employment.
• You need to work safely and follow all company policies and procedures.

Schedule, Employment Terms, and Additional Information

This is a unionized permanent position governed by a collective agreement. The posting is for a fixed weekend schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12 hours per day. If shift changes happen in the future, they will follow the terms and conditions of the collective agreement.
