Role Overview
Ertech is looking for highly experienced civil all-round operators to work on a civil infrastructure project at Barrow Island in Western Australia. The assignment follows a FIFO 2:2 roster, with 12-hour shifts and a full-time arrangement. The role offers competitive hourly pay plus penalty rates, and places strong emphasis on working safely every day.

Role Summary
Reporting to the Civil Supervisor, you will support a range of civil construction tasks within an operating gas plant setting. The position suits operators with advanced skills on small mobile plant and substantial experience carrying out accurate excavation and construction work in tight areas near live infrastructure and underground services.
Key Work Areas
- Carry out precise excavation around existing underground and above-ground services and infrastructure
- Perform civil excavation activities
- Install underground services and complete related civil works
- Handle formwork and concreting tasks
- Complete backfilling and reinstatement work
- Undertake paving and finishing activities
- Operate a range of small and medium civil plant safely and efficiently
- Work in line with permit-to-work processes and strict site safety requirements
Essential Requirements
- Multiple trade tickets with National Competency Tickets, including combinations of excavator, loader, skid steer, roller, water cart, and tipper truck
- Strong background in civil earthworks
- Proven experience with detailed excavation around live services, existing infrastructure, and restricted work areas
- Prior work experience in an operating gas plant, oil and gas facility, mine site, or similar high-risk industrial environment
- Current White Card
- Permit to Work training and practical experience
- High regard for safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Full Australian working rights

Barrow Island Worksite
Barrow Island is located about 60 kilometres from the mainland and 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. It is home to Chevron’s Gorgon operation and WA Oil operations, and it hosts Western Australia’s largest oil and gas field.
On-site accommodation is well equipped and includes meal services, gym facilities, fitness classes, sporting amenities, a football field, golf simulator, bike hire, two swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts, and a cricket pitch.
