Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Payroll Manager to lead payroll operations, make sure employees are paid accurately and on schedule, and ensure all payroll activity complies with the relevant labor laws and regulations. This position is responsible for improving payroll systems, strengthening controls, and partnering with internal stakeholders to support business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and execute payroll policies, processes, and practices that support business objectives and legal requirements.
- Manage the complete payroll cycle, including processing salaries, deductions, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and final payments.
- Ensure payroll is completed accurately and on time while meeting labor law, tax, social insurance, and internal policy obligations.
- Handle payroll schedules, approvals, reconciliations, reporting, and month-end close activities.
- Work closely with HR, finance, accounting, legal, and business leaders to address payroll issues and improve workflows.
- Lead payroll audits, compliance checks, internal control reviews, and recordkeeping to protect payroll accuracy and integrity.
- Oversee payroll platforms, HRIS tools, ERP integrations, and automation efforts to increase efficiency and precision.
- Guide, coach, and develop payroll staff while encouraging strong service standards and operational excellence.
- Track payroll KPIs, processing accuracy, service performance, and process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare payroll summaries, labor cost analysis, compliance reporting, and recommendations for senior management.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
- Professional credentials such as CPP, FPC, CPA, ACCA, CIPD, or similar are considered an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll administration, payroll operations, finance, accounting, or HR-related roles.
- At least 2 years of experience leading payroll teams, managing enterprise payroll activities, or supporting payroll transformation projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, labor laws, tax rules, payroll accounting, and compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with payroll software, HRIS, ERP systems, time and attendance tools, and advanced Excel.
- Strong analytical thinking, planning, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder coordination, and customer service skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential payroll and employee data responsibly.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote setting.
