Operator - Finishing Machine

Job Overview

This role is for a finishing machine operator responsible for setting up, running, and monitoring a range of post-press and finishing equipment to ensure high-quality output.

Machine Setup and Operation

You will prepare and run multiple types of finishing machinery, including Kolbus perfect binders, Muller Martini saddle stitchers, folding units, sewing machines, Wholemberg gathering machines, and cutting machines. The role also covers configuring automatic die-cutting, foiling, embossing, Brausee folder-gluer, and Champion bag fabrication machines according to the job requirements and the material being processed.

Quality Control

A key part of the job is to watch production closely and confirm that binding strength, stitch placement, fold accuracy, and cutting alignment all meet the required standards. You will also carry out both visual inspections and manual checks to verify product quality.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Daily responsibilities include routine cleaning of equipment, following the preventive maintenance plan, and promptly reporting mechanical problems, jams, or misfeeds to the foreman or maintenance staff.
