About the Role
Headquarters provides the back-office support that keeps cannabis brands and operators moving. The team handles sales operations, accounts receivable, finance, data, and order-related work so clients can stay focused on growth. Because the delivery teams produce large volumes of information, the business relies on this role to transform raw data into insights that can actually guide decisions.
As an Operations Analyst, you will create dashboards and recurring reports that show both client teams and internal stakeholders what is happening in the business. Just as importantly, you will investigate the data to identify what is unusual, what is trending up or down, and where revenue or efficiency may be slipping away. Your analysis will cover sales, operations, yield, and basic financial and cost reporting across several client accounts.
This position suits someone who is proactive about finding the right questions to ask. The strongest performers here are not waiting for instructions; they naturally ask what a changing metric should be compared with, what decision it supports, and whether the issue is caused by the data or by the business itself.
What You’ll Do
- Create dashboards and recurring reports from the ground up using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, or similar platforms, deciding which metrics belong and which should be left out.
- Extract, clean, and rework data from CRMs, help desk systems, point-of-sale tools, and spreadsheets into reporting that answers real business questions.
- Review sales, operational, and financial data to spot irregularities, patterns, and improvement opportunities, then present the findings in a way decision-makers can use.
- Track and report on areas such as sales performance, lead funnels, yield, response times, and cost trends across client accounts.
- Interpret a profit and loss statement or income statement well enough to recognize when something looks incorrect or inconsistent.
- Work with delivery and client-facing teams to determine what should be measured and why.
What You’ll Need
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets capability, including pivots, lookups, and the ability to build real analytical models rather than just format spreadsheets.
- Practical experience building dashboards in at least one drag-and-drop visualization tool such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or an equivalent; ownership of created dashboards matters more than maintenance work.
- Solid financial understanding, with the ability to read a balance sheet or income statement and reason through what the numbers imply, even without a finance degree.
- Experience pulling data from a CRM or help desk platform such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Zendesk, or similar tools and converting exports into useful reporting.
- Comfort using AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini to support analysis tasks such as writing queries, troubleshooting formulas, and structuring insights.
- A strong instinct for identifying the right question to investigate, rather than simply producing reports that have already been requested.
Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of SQL, which is considered more valuable than Python for this role, or a strong willingness to learn it quickly.
- Python experience for automation and analysis.
- Exposure to working across multiple clients or business units at the same time.
- Experience in cannabis or another regulated, data-intensive industry.
Benefits
- Fully remote work with a flexible and fast-moving environment.
- The opportunity to support data-led decisions for established cannabis brands and operators.
- Ownership of reporting and analytics that have a direct impact on business outcomes.
- A chance to deepen analytical skills while working with a high degree of autonomy.
Values
The company is guided by curiosity, collaboration, and persistence. Team members are expected to seek deep understanding, work together on complex problems, and stay resilient while pursuing meaningful long-term impact. These principles shape both the internal culture and the way client success is supported.
