Role Overview
As a Master Planner, you will help convert long-range demand plans into aggregated capacity requirements so the site can operate effectively and customer service targets are met. The role also involves monitoring planning performance, identifying capacity pressures, and working closely with cross-functional teams to keep supply and demand aligned.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert long-term demand forecasts for manufactured products into required hours to support site capacity planning and customer service.
- Track planning performance that affects customer fulfilment and highlight demand changes that could strain capacity.
- Work with planning and materials teams to spot short-term issues that may affect plan execution, attainment, inventory, or material availability.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts and support risk management activities.
- Coordinate and align with departments such as procurement, finance, warehouse, operations, quality, and global supply chain.
Required Experience and Skills
To be successful in this role, candidates should bring strong supply chain planning experience, solid analytical ability, and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. The role also calls for advanced use of business systems and Microsoft Office tools, along with a proven record of improving processes and systems.
Additional Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher, along with at least 10 years of relevant supply chain planning experience.
- Strong analytical skills, including experience with reporting, visual presentation of data, and influencing senior leadership.
- Hands-on exposure to ERP, MRP II, MRP, SCP, APS, or DRP systems, especially Oracle, ASCP, or SAP.
- Advanced ability with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated experience introducing changes to business processes and working methods.
- A master’s degree in supply chain management or operations management from an accredited institution is a plus.
- APICS CPIM or a similar professional planning certification is an advantage.
- 5 years of additional relevant experience in operations, logistics, or demand planning in private, public, government, or military settings is desirable.
- Strong understanding of capacity planning, inventory control, and end-to-end information and material flow across the supply chain.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels.
- Familiarity with healthcare supply chain auditing practices and SOX frameworks is beneficial.
Work Location and Travel
This is a hybrid role. While some remote work is possible, the position requires travel to Athlone, Ireland, at least 3 days each week. Travel may also be required up to 10% domestically or internationally.
