Role Overview
Accelerec Ltd. is growing its FTTH fiber network rollout and is seeking either full civil construction crews or individual skilled specialists who can help build new teams right away. The work is centered on trenching, laying microducts and cables, operating machinery, and restoring surfaces after construction.
Open Positions Within the Team
- Excavator / Machine Operators (Baggerfahrer / Baugeräteführer): You will run mini excavators and compact wheel loaders for trench and pit excavation, with special care required when working near live underground services such as gas, water, and electricity.
- Truck Drivers (LKW-Fahrer - Class C/CE / C1E): You will move excavated soil, gravel, building materials, and construction equipment between sites. When the truck is not in use, you will also assist the civil crew with hands-on site work, which is expected to take around 40% of the time.
Core Responsibilities
- Carry out standard trenching and opening works for FTTH network installation.
- Install sub-ducts and fiber optic cables into prepared trenches.
- Set up construction areas and secure them in line with RSA 21 safety rules.
- Restore paths, driveways, and road surfaces so they match their original condition as closely as possible.
- Perform basic cleaning, checks, and daily upkeep of assigned machines and construction vehicles.
Candidate Profile
The ideal applicant has practical experience in civil engineering, road building, or cable line construction. You should be able to interpret simple construction and route drawings, work reliably in physically demanding outdoor conditions, and contribute as a strong team member. Site work requires basic German communication, with B1 preferred for easier coordination and safety, although clear team understanding is essential. English can be an added advantage.
Additional Requirements
- Drivers must hold a valid German or EU driving licence in class C/CE or C1E together with Code 95.
- Operators must have a valid excavator or machinery licence and prior experience with mini excavators.
- Prior work around underground utility infrastructure is required.
- Experience with construction safety procedures, especially RSA 21, is preferred.
- Valid authorization to work in Germany is mandatory.
- Willingness to travel and work in different project regions across Germany when needed is expected.
