About the Role
US Performance Academy, part of Inspired Education, is seeking a remote Learning Coach based in the United States. This is a permanent, full-time position on a Monday-to-Friday schedule, with a planned start date of 27 July 2026. Applicants must have the unrestricted right to work in the US.
The academy is an online school designed for elite student-athletes, offering an accredited, NCAA-recognized middle and high school education that allows students to balance academics with intensive training and competition. The Learning Coach plays a central role in ensuring students and families receive personalized support throughout the non-traditional 12-month academic year.
As the main contact for assigned students, the Learning Coach will hold regular one-to-one meetings, monitor academic pacing and progress, update study plans, coordinate with teachers, share retention insights, and maintain complete communication records using the school’s standard systems. The role is key to keeping support consistent, expectations clear, and collaboration strong across the student services team.
Student Support and Communication
- Act as the primary contact for a set group of middle and/or high school students.
- Run recurring virtual 1:1 meetings to support organization, planning, pacing, and academic expectations.
- Keep steady contact with students and families and respond promptly through approved communication channels.
- Provide motivation, accountability, and practical help with problem-solving.
- Advocate for student needs when working with teachers, counselors, and other school staff.
Academic Planning and Guidance
- Support onboarding and orientation for newly enrolled students.
- Revise plans of study and assist with course sequencing, planning, and schedule changes.
- Understand and explain graduation requirements, NCAA eligibility considerations, and AP course procedures.
- Track pacing and academic performance, spot issues early, and put support measures in place.
- Direct students to the right support services such as GOAL, counseling, or teacher 1:1 sessions when needed.
Documentation and Professional Standards
- Keep detailed notes, communication logs, and student updates in the school’s systems.
- Send regular progress updates to families.
- Follow the school’s standard processes and use the required documentation and reporting tools.
Team Collaboration and School Engagement
- Take part in weekly coaching meetings and training sessions.
- Join regular check-ins with the Head Learning Coach and Head of Community Life.
- Work closely with teachers, counselors, and the wider support team.
- Adapt to changing school needs and take on additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Profile
The strongest applicants are likely to have experience in coaching, mentoring, case management, client support, youth development, or academic advising, as this role depends on relationship-centered support and structured guidance.
To succeed in this position, candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, at least two years of experience in a school environment, excellent remote communication and relationship-building skills, and the ability to work independently while managing a structured workload. Comfort with technology and new systems, a professional communication style, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to de-escalate difficult situations are also important. Alignment with USPA’s values of accountability, flexibility, excellence, and human connection is expected.
