Role overview
The Lead Cleaner is responsible for keeping assigned facilities operating smoothly, safely, and in line with company procedures. This position helps direct day-to-day cleaning activities, assigns tasks to team members, and provides on-site leadership when the manager is unavailable. The role also includes handling specialized cleaning equipment, using cleaning chemicals appropriately, and supporting general janitorial work whenever needed.

Key responsibilities
- Coordinate daily site operations and ensure work is carried out according to established procedures.
- Assign tasks, guide team members, and provide leadership across the shift.
- Serve as the point of supervision at the location when management is not on site.
- Keep communication flowing between field staff and management and record client-related updates.
- Help prepare daily and weekly schedules.
- Carry out cleaning duties in the assigned building and make sure standards are met.
- Manage property keys and access cards responsibly.
- Report damaged equipment, broken fixtures, and any items that are out of service.
- Handle extra service requests or tag jobs within the assigned facility.
- Check the quality of completed work and verify completion with the Area Manager.
- Train newly hired employees at the building following onboarding procedures.
- Review and confirm time records for regular and subcontracted workers.
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and chemicals on a weekly basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Meet any site-specific certifications or training requirements.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules and report obstacles or issues that prevent completion.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.
- Preferred: 1 year of similar experience.
- Preferred: 1 year of customer service experience.
- Preferred: 1 year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Preferred: valid driver’s license.
