Role Summary
This position is for an L3 Network Engineer based in Hyderabad, responsible for advanced support and administration across LAN, WLAN, WAN, and data center networking environments. The role calls for strong troubleshooting ability, hands-on configuration experience, and coordination with multiple infrastructure teams to keep enterprise networks stable and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advanced-level support for routing and switching environments, backed by CCNA/CCNP certification or above.
- Work extensively with LAN switching concepts and technologies such as STP, trunking, EtherChannel, HSRP, VRRP, Cisco ISE, VLANs, and VTP.
- Support and troubleshoot WAN issues including latency, jitter, packet loss, asymmetric routing, and application performance concerns.
- Use VeloCloud SD-WAN tools and features in day-to-day operations and troubleshooting.
- Administer and troubleshoot network services such as Microsoft DHCP, DNS, and IPAM.
- Handle Cisco Nexus 7K/5K/2K platforms and Cisco Catalyst 9000 series devices with strong practical exposure.
- Design, deploy, and resolve issues in datacenter technologies including VSS, VDC, VPC, OTV, FabricPath, FCoE, and multi-tenancy setups.
- Monitor and resolve incidents, service requests, and network faults using SolarWinds or similar monitoring platforms.
- Manage Cisco Wireless LAN Controller and Juniper Mist wireless environments.
- Apply knowledge of 802.11 wireless architecture in deployment and troubleshooting tasks.
- Work with AAA-related protocols and technologies such as RADIUS and DIAMETER, including application testing scenarios involving these protocols.
- Diagnose and fix network link, device hardware, and configuration-related failures by isolating root cause and restoring service.
- Install, configure, and support enterprise-scale routers, switches, wireless systems, and related network equipment.
- Carry out change management activities, including implementation and validation.
- Maintain clear documentation and ensure audit compliance requirements are met.
- Coordinate closely with other L3 and infrastructure teams to resolve complex issues.
- Follow ITIL practices across incident, change, and problem management processes.
- Take part in on-call support and shift rotations as required.
- Handle multiple tasks at once while managing conflicting priorities effectively.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Strong command of LAN switching and routing fundamentals
- Experience with WAN troubleshooting and performance analysis
- Hands-on exposure to SD-WAN solutions, especially VeloCloud
- Practical knowledge of Cisco Nexus and Catalyst platforms
- Wireless networking administration and troubleshooting
- Understanding of DHCP, DNS, and IP address management
- Knowledge of datacenter network design and redundancy concepts
- Ability to work with monitoring and incident management tools
- Familiarity with ITIL-based support processes
- Analytical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Documentation and compliance awareness
