Kitchen Helper

Overview

Diamond Sweets Restaurant is hiring a kitchen helper for its Surrey, British Columbia location. This role is based at the workplace and must be performed in person; remote work is not available.

Language

English is required for this position.

Education and experience

No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is needed. Previous experience is not mandatory, although prior exposure to similar work is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry clean dishes, cutlery, and other service items to dining areas and arrange tables as needed.
• Move and replace linens when required.
• Clean and disinfect dish mats, carts, and waste disposal containers.
• Clear tables, trays, and chairs, then clean them thoroughly.
• Load buspans and trays.
• Run dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, and cutlery.
• Store cleaned dishes in the appropriate area.
• Wash dishes and related items by hand when necessary.
• Pack food orders for take-out service.
• Prepare, warm, and finish simple menu items.
• Assist customers at counters or buffet service areas.
• Replenish refrigerators and salad bars.
• Take out kitchen waste and garbage.
• Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
• Wash, peel, and cut fruits and vegetables.
