Role Summary
The Inventory & Procurement Controller will oversee inventory and procurement activities to keep stock records accurate and reporting reliable. Working closely with the Operations Supervisor, the position helps maintain smooth day-to-day operations through timely daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on expiry, short-expiry, and vintage stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct stock movement activity and ensure every transaction is captured correctly in the ERP system.
- Check goods receipt notes, put-away actions, and bin allocations, while keeping batch, expiry, and product vintage records up to date.
- Apply FIFO principles, uphold storage requirements, and protect product quality during handling.
- Carry out periodic reconciliations between ERP and TANCIS, and upload monthly duty-free sales data.
- Coordinate customs clearance for imported shipments.
- Organize and execute perpetual and annual stock counts, then report any variances.
- Manage damaged, expired, and written-off stock, including destruction processes in line with company policy and regulations.
- Monitor par levels and short-expiry inventory to avoid shortages and excessive stock.
- Prepare accurate monthly inventory reports for financial and management review.
- Keep documentation audit-ready and suggest improvements or corrective steps where needed.
- Serve as the first point of contact for new supplier or product enquiries, and route them appropriately to the Buyer (Retail) or F&B leadership.
- Maintain the item master database, range plans, and forecasting tools to support sound decision-making.
- Work with Commercial Finance, the Buyer, and the Head Chef to secure margin approvals for new listings.
- Manage supplier price lists and support updates to trade agreements with Pricing.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- At least 4 years of experience, ideally including supervision or coordination of small teams made up of different nationalities and abilities.
- Working knowledge of audit practices, internal controls, and accounting basics.
- Prior exposure to FMC environments and FMC products is essential.
- Experience using ERP and WMS systems, including RF technology.
- Strong numerical ability and confidence handling figures.
- Good understanding of current stock control standards and industry practices.
- Comfortable using MS Office to prepare reports and analyze spreadsheet data.
