Role overview
Join a flexible backup nanny team that supports families needing dependable childcare on an on-call basis. This role is suited to people who enjoy a lively, creative, and adaptable work environment and who may be looking for work that fits around school, family, or another job.
What you will do
- Provide in-home care for children without being responsible for transportation.
- Keep cleaning limited to simple tidying related to activities or meals you supervise with the child.
- Support families with children from infancy through toddler age, with the greatest need for children under 2 years old.
- Use age-appropriate, hands-on activities to keep children engaged while maintaining safety and observing their developmental needs.
- Work with multiple families as needed, based on scheduling and staffing requirements.
What is offered
- Hourly pay in the range of $23 to $26.50.
- Paid training plus a nanny kit containing games and activities for childcare assignments.
- Opportunities to grow within the childcare field and be considered first for families seeking a long-term nanny, whether full-time or part-time.
- Paid sick time for both part-time and full-time schedules.
- For full-time roles, benefits may include a medical stipend, paid vacation, paid holidays, student loan repayment matching funds, or retirement savings matching funds.
- Additional earning opportunities may include mileage stipends, performance bonuses for strong feedback, and team events or contests that help build connection and support.
- Legal W-2 employment with unemployment insurance and the ability to strengthen your resume.
Who this role suits
This position is ideal for people with childcare experience such as babysitting, daycare work, nannying, or volunteering in a church nursery. It may also suit retired teachers or education professionals who want a smaller setting than a classroom and candidates who need a schedule that can flex around other commitments.
Eligibility and schedule
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Prior experience with children is required; both paid and unpaid experience are acceptable.
- Infant care experience is mandatory.
- You need reliable transportation and the ability to travel to different homes in the area.
- You must be available at least 3 weekdays each week for shifts lasting 6 to 8 hours, scheduled between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
- You should be dependable, communicative, responsive to the staffing supervisor, and bring a positive, welcoming attitude to each family.
Additional information
The role involves working with multiple families and staying ready for on-call assignments. Child transport is not part of the job, and no household duties are expected beyond routine cleanup connected to the child’s activities or meals.
