Event Planning Manager

Role overview

Hyatt Regency Lagos, Ikeja is building its pre-opening team for a property expected to launch in 2026. Set in the calm GRA area and only a short drive from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the hotel is designed to offer a refined stay for both business and leisure guests.

As an Event Planning Manager, you will oversee confirmed events from the handover stage through to final completion. The role centers on client management, precise coordination, and making sure every event is delivered smoothly and to a high standard.

What you will do

• Act as the main contact for clients once an event has been confirmed.
• Plan, organize, and supervise all event types, including meetings, conferences, weddings, and social gatherings.
• Hold detailed planning discussions to capture client expectations and requirements.
• Create and maintain Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and event schedules.
• Work closely with banquet, kitchen, AV, housekeeping, and front office teams to ensure flawless delivery.
• Confirm that every setup aligns with brand guidelines and client requests.
• Stay on-site during events to monitor execution and handle issues as they arise.
• Track event costs, verify billing, and complete post-event reconciliation.
• Develop strong client relationships that support repeat business.
• Collect client feedback and help maintain excellent guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, event management, or a similar discipline.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in event planning or hotel operations, ideally in an upscale or luxury hotel.
• Strong organization skills with the ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Clear communication and strong people skills.
• High attention to detail and a practical approach to solving problems.
• Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple events simultaneously.
• Familiarity with hotel event management software such as Opera.
