Role overview
The Director of Learning & Development leads the creation, rollout, and ongoing improvement of enterprise-wide learning programs that strengthen employee capability, engagement, and performance. The position is focused on aligning learning efforts with business priorities and operational needs while ensuring delivery remains consistent and effective across the organization.
In this role, you will work closely with HR, Operations, and business leaders to identify capability gaps, build scalable learning solutions, and use performance data to refine programs over time.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement learning and development programs for clinical, operational, and corporate teams.
- Create standardized curricula, training resources, and learning paths that support organizational goals.
- Lead delivery of training across classroom, virtual, and digital formats, maintaining quality and consistency across sites and teams.
- Work with leaders to assess skill gaps and convert business needs into practical learning solutions.
- Use instructional design methods to build engaging content grounded in adult learning principles.
- Assess learning tools and technologies, including LMS platforms, eLearning systems, and AI-supported tools, and encourage their effective use.
- Set measurement criteria to evaluate training impact and use feedback and performance data to improve programs.
- Collaborate with HR, clinical leadership, operations, subject matter experts, and external vendors to support learning initiatives.
- Build and maintain learning standards, governance, and consistent practices that support scalability and business alignment.
- Support organizational change efforts by designing learning approaches that improve adoption of new systems, processes, and operating models.
- Provide guidance and oversight to L&D team members or program resources, ensuring accountability and timely delivery.
Work environment and physical demands
This position is based in a professional office and training setting. Duties may include desk-based work, virtual facilitation, and onsite instruction. Periodic travel may be required to support training delivery and collaboration across multiple locations.
The role requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods, communicate clearly both in person and virtually, use standard office equipment, and occasionally handle training materials or equipment for sessions.

Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or a closely related discipline is required.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in learning and development, instructional design, talent development, or a similar area is required.
- Prior experience designing and implementing enterprise learning programs in a multi-site environment is preferred.
- Experience building curricula, training materials, learning pathways, and scalable learning solutions is required.
- Familiarity with learning technologies such as LMS platforms, eLearning tools, and digital training solutions is preferred.
