DevOps Engineer Intern

About the internship

This remote internship is with an EdTech company focused on adaptive learning powered by artificial intelligence. The team builds learning journeys that respond to each learner’s skill gaps and automatically surface targeted content to improve those weak areas. The role is aimed at someone who can help run and improve the infrastructure that supports these products.

What you'll work on

• Run Kubernetes clusters on GKE across development, staging, and production, including networking, autoscaling, and environment access controls.
• Manage Terraform-based infrastructure as code, including reusable modules, pull-request-based planning, and safe change practices for shared infrastructure.
• Build and maintain containerized systems with Docker and take ownership of GitHub Actions pipelines from pull request through production deployment.
• Support the machine learning infrastructure behind the products, including scaling inference workloads and deploying model updates safely.
• Handle database operations such as backups, restoration drills, connection pooling, and performance tuning under live load.
• Create core observability foundations with logs, metrics, and alerts so issues are detected through monitoring rather than by users.
• Act as the first line of response during production incidents and document blameless postmortems to prevent repeat failures.
• Lower operational overhead by identifying recurring problems and replacing them with automation.
• Track and control cloud spending continuously.

Eligibility

Applicants must be available for a work-from-home internship, ready to begin between 7 July 2026 and 11 August 2026, and able to commit for 6 months. The employer is looking for candidates with relevant skills and interests, and Computer Science Engineering students are specifically mentioned as eligible. Women who want to begin or resume their careers may also apply.

Additional requirements

• Hands-on experience with GitOps workflows.
• Exposure to GPU-based or production ML inference infrastructure.
• Ability to build infrastructure that works well with AI coding agents.
• Prior experience in an early-stage startup, where you owned infrastructure end to end without a dedicated operations team.

Perks and compensation

The internship includes a certificate. The stipend is listed as ₹13,000 to ₹17,000 per month. A separate stipend breakdown is also provided: fixed pay of ₹12,000 to ₹15,000 per month plus incentive pay of ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per month.
