About the Role
In this position, you will work at the intersection of business knowledge, data architecture, and analytics. The main emphasis is on Oracle Business Analytics and Enterprise Performance Management. Your job is to help transform large and varied data sets into useful business insight by designing suitable analytical data models, enabling efficient data storage, and providing practical options for querying and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on the client’s information needs, whether they are driven by business objectives or technical and scientific goals, while also assessing the existing data landscape through data profiling.
- Structure data at a conceptual level and translate that design into Oracle-based implementations using relational, multidimensional, hybrid, and, for big data scenarios, NoSQL schemas.
- Work with Oracle databases, data warehouses, and data marts in on-premises environments and increasingly in autonomous cloud setups; build performance management applications using Oracle Essbase and, where needed, open-source tools.
- Collaborate closely with clients on the design of reporting and analytics solutions as well as dashboards, implementing them with the full range of Oracle Analytics products, client-available competitor tools, and open-source technologies.
- Support data migration work by contributing to profiling, designing the data transfer approach (ETL: extract, transform, load), implementing the ETL process, adding the required automation, and providing suitable validation routines.
Requirements
- Completed degree in computer science, business informatics, information management, or industrial engineering with a strong IT orientation.
- Knowledge and ideally hands-on experience in data management system architecture and usage.
- Experience in conceptual modelling of data, business processes, and business rules.
- Solid understanding of logical and physical database design.
- Practical knowledge of data modelling for data warehousing and OLAP, including star and snowflake schemas.
- Ability to design and develop monitoring and online analytics solutions such as reports, dashboards, and alerting systems for web and mobile devices.
- Additional strengths such as modern data visualisation methods and technologies, agile data warehouse modelling with Data Vault, Oracle Analytics Cloud, and Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud are welcome.
- Experience with business intelligence databases and applications using object-relational and in-memory technologies, multidimensional/Essbase environments, or big data stacks such as NoSQL, Hadoop, and Spark is an advantage.
- Responsible use of digital technologies and AI with the goal of creating sustainable, human-centred user experiences.
- Strong communication skills, the ability to abstract and structure complex topics, careful documentation practices, and good German and English language skills.
- Willingness to travel for project work within Germany and abroad.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and strong development prospects.
- Personal coaching and medium-term collaboration with an experienced consultant who will support you at the start and help advance your growth.
- A dynamic, innovative work environment with locations in Ettlingen/Karlsruhe, Hamburg, Münster, Vienna, Zurich, and Zagreb.
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
- Access to technically interesting and challenging projects.
- A chance to contribute your early experience and industry knowledge across different clients and assignments.
- Preparation to lead your own projects within three years, with deep exposure to current digital transformation topics.
