Custodian/Stocker

Role Overview

Y-Not Stop is looking for a dependable Custodian/Stocker to help keep the store clean, organized, safe, and customer-friendly. This position combines store upkeep, shelf stocking, basic maintenance support, and warm customer service.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Follow store policies and help maintain a safe environment for customers and coworkers.
• Stay professional, positive, and focused while avoiding unnecessary conflict.
• Wear the required uniform and safety equipment at all times.
• Respond quickly to spills and other safety or maintenance concerns, and escalate issues when needed.
• Restock merchandise using FIFO rotation and keep coolers neat and visually appealing.
• Arrive on time and be prepared to work each shift.
• Work cooperatively with teammates, offer help where needed, and ask for guidance when necessary.
• Welcome customers courteously, assist them in finding products, and handle questions or concerns with care.
• Involve a manager when a customer issue needs higher-level support.
• Pay for any snacks or items before consuming them.
• Keep personal phone use away from customer-facing time so attention stays on the store.
• Keep the store clean and complete the daily task checklist.
• Carry out simple maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs and helping with deliveries.
• Notice cleaning, safety, or maintenance needs before being asked.
• Contribute ideas that can improve store operations and the customer experience.
• Support your team, choose the right course of action, and bring a strong work ethic each day.
• Do your best, recognize progress, and help create a positive daily impact.

Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing and walking, with occasional bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Regular hand use is needed, along with normal hearing, speech, and standard vision. Work is mostly indoors in moderate noise, though brief exposure to outdoor weather, temperature shifts, wet or humid conditions, fumes, chemicals, or vibration may occur. Reasonable accommodations may be available.
