Role Overview
This position is for a Head Start Custodian based in DeKalb County. The role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and well-kept environment across the building and playground, along with carrying out minor maintenance tasks at the assigned site and, when needed, other Head Start locations.
Key Duties
- Keep the interior of the facility clean and orderly throughout the day.
- Ensure the playground area remains clean and presentable at all times.
- Carry out small building repair and maintenance tasks at the main location and at other Head Start sites as required.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A high school diploma or an equivalent credential is required.
- Prior custodial or building maintenance experience of around two years is preferred.
- The candidate should be able to work independently with limited supervision and bring a self-starting attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, reliability, flexibility, cooperation, and productivity are important for this role.
- The employee must complete First Aid and CPR certification within 12 months of joining.
- If driving on behalf of Brightpoint, a valid Indiana driver's license is required, along with auto insurance carrying minimum liability coverage of $100,000/$300,000.
Compensation
The starting pay for this position is $17.30.
