Curriculum Specialist

Role overview

This position sits at the center of an AI-led learning model where students complete a full day’s academic work in only two focused hours and then use the rest of their day for creative and physical pursuits. As the Curriculum Specialist, you will help keep that model effective, improve it continuously, and shape how it evolves over time.

Working from any location with a dependable internet connection, you will translate large volumes of AI-generated learner data into fast, accurate actions that help students move toward 90% mastery and beyond. When learners hit a roadblock, you will step into live coaching conversations, remove the obstacle quickly, and help them regain confidence and momentum. You will also study student performance patterns in depth, uncover what is driving or slowing progress, and contribute to AI-driven solutions that can increase learning speed.

What you will do

• Prepare clear academic data reports and review them systematically to spot issues, identify unusual patterns, and trigger corrective action within 48 hours.
• Run rapid support sessions and follow-up coaching after assessments to clear blockers, separate real knowledge gaps from simple mistakes, and keep students motivated.
• Evaluate new learning apps and content, then build AI/LLM prototypes that support improved learning methods and solve targeted challenges.
• Work with leadership to refine tools, dashboards, and mastery targets as the AI tutor continues to develop.
• Use data insights to improve measurable outcomes such as learning velocity, app engagement, comprehension, response accuracy, and reduced negative learning behaviors across the network.

What you will not be doing

• Spending your time in long meetings or creating broad presentations that do not connect to real outcomes.
• Writing lesson plans, grading assignments, or running a traditional education program, since the model depends on AI and innovation instead.
• Working only at a high-strategy level without execution, or being limited to repetitive work; this is a practical, hands-on role.

Requirements

• Background in data science or a related field, or experience in education, EdTech, or a student-support role that combines analysis with interpersonal work.
• Strong experience with Google Sheets analysis, including lookups, pivot tables, and filtering.
• Excellent emotional intelligence, communication ability, and a coaching style that works well with children.
• Experience creating workflows and automations using AI.
• At least 1 year of direct experience working with K–8 students.
• Availability to work core hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Central Time, Monday through Friday.
• Extra advantage: knowledge of learning science or educational principles, or a track record of improving results through data-led strategies.
• Extra advantage: experience with generative AI, prompting, and basic coding such as Python or JavaScript for working with AI APIs.

Working arrangement

This is a full-time, long-term role with a 40-hour workweek. The position is immediately available and requires the selected person to enter into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as Contractor of Record. Payment is made weekly. The role is based on a contractor arrangement even though it functions as a full-time position.

Compensation

The pay rate is USD 30 per hour, which comes to USD 60,000 per year based on 40 hours per week and 50 working weeks in a year.
