Role Overview
The Creative Director will serve as a brand leader and creative strategist, combining strong design execution with the ability to use new technologies to speed up and improve the creative process. This role is focused on building a scalable brand system, elevating visual consistency, and finding practical ways to use AI and other emerging tools across the organization. It is a hands-on leadership position that also helps shape how employees work with the brand and approved creative tools.
This opportunity is based in Canada and is intended to support a current opening on the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and guide the creative direction for the brand so it supports business priorities and reflects market trends.
- Own the visual approach for secondary and community-facing brand expressions, including KindCon, the Kindsight community, and research-related initiatives.
- Decide when to produce design work directly, when to assign it to freelancers, and when to use AI to improve speed and scale.
- Adopt new design methods and tools that streamline workflows, support idea generation, and improve asset creation.
- Create polished design work across digital ads, print collateral, social content, and keynote presentations.
- Maintain a consistent and recognizable brand experience across every customer and employee touchpoint.
- Manage design requests and projects end to end, including timelines, budgets, and print production/pre-press preparation when needed.
- Work closely with marketing, product, and executive stakeholders to keep creative work aligned with company goals.
- Build tools, guidelines, and processes that help employees create brand-compliant materials using approved AI-enabled resources.
- Direct external designers and creative vendors, ensuring their output meets brand standards.
- Share concepts, updates, and final creative directions with internal partners and refine work based on feedback.
Requirements
- Strong experience blending creative thinking with technology to make the design process faster and more efficient without weakening brand quality.
- At least 7 years of graphic design experience, preferably in a B2B SaaS setting, including 3 or more years in a leadership or creative strategy role.
- Practical use of AI tools for concept development, workflow improvement, asset production, and broader team enablement.
- Deep understanding of design fundamentals such as typography, layout, color, imagery, illustration, and accessible design practices.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, pre-press preparation, and presentation design in Google Slides and PowerPoint.
- Working knowledge of, or openness to learning, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and related motion design tools.
- A portfolio showing breadth across digital marketing assets, GTM campaigns, ebooks, keynote decks, and print work.
- Ability to move beyond the first concept and explore multiple creative directions.
- Comfort handling several projects at once; Asana experience is an advantage.
- Background managing external designers or creative vendors.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain creative decisions clearly.
- Video editing experience is considered a plus.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is CAD 140,000 to CAD 154,000 OTE annually, depending on experience, market benchmarks, and role complexity.
