Cost Accountant

Role Summary

Jindal Stainless is hiring a Cost Accountant for its Hisar, Haryana facility. This full-time, on-site role is focused on cost control and financial analysis within the defence manufacturing space, with direct exposure to ESR and forging operations. The position calls for a CMA-qualified professional with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience who can build strong costing frameworks, improve reporting accuracy, and support business decisions with reliable cost data.

Core Responsibilities

• Build and maintain precise product costing for ESR and forging operations.
• Analyze cost variances across material, labour, and overhead categories to identify savings opportunities.
• Prepare detailed cost sheets for defence-grade products.
• Design and roll out improved costing systems, controls, and management information frameworks.
• Support automation and digitalization efforts in costing and reporting workflows.
• Improve internal controls and strengthen standard costing practices.
• Work extensively in SAP, with preference for CO, MM, and PP modules.
• Ensure reliable cost capture and reporting through SAP-based processes.
• Partner with IT teams on system upgrades and AI-enabled analytics initiatives.
• Prepare annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Track actual results against budget and explain deviations.
• Create management reports with actionable insights for senior leadership.
• Understand and apply costing principles specific to defence manufacturing.
• Assist with pricing, tendering, and contract costing decisions.
• Maintain alignment with industry practices and audit expectations.
• Work closely with production, procurement, and finance teams to supply cost inputs for operational and strategic planning.

Required Background

• CMA qualification is mandatory.
• Applicants should have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Prior experience in ESR or forging is essential, ideally in a defence manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in SAP is required.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement costing systems is important.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability are expected.
