Role overview

Child Development Schools is hiring a Childcare Cook in Macon, Georgia (Sheraton Dr). In this position, you will support children’s health and development by preparing meals and snacks that are nutritious, timely, and aligned with the center’s program standards. The kitchen is busy and fast-moving, but the work is centered on providing safe, high-quality food for young children.

Key duties

• Plan, prepare, and serve meals and snacks for children according to menu plans and CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program) requirements.
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and storage practices to keep the kitchen clean and compliant.
• Make sure dietary limitations, allergies, and other special needs documented for enrolled children are properly addressed.
• Maintain records for meal counts, food stock, and supply requirements, and share updates with center leadership.
• Look after kitchen equipment and promptly report any repair or maintenance concerns.
• Assist classroom staff outside kitchen hours when needed, including helping with activities and child supervision.
