Role Overview
Marvit Dental Solutions is looking for a Ceramist to produce precise, natural-looking dental ceramic restorations. The role centers on translating dental prescriptions and digital designs into finished ceramic work that meets clinical and aesthetic expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret dental prescriptions, digital files, and instructions shared by dentists or prosthodontists for each restoration case.
- Prepare ceramic materials by selecting, mixing, and adjusting shades and formulations to closely match a patient’s natural teeth.
- Build up ceramic layers on restoration frameworks to create realistic tooth form, shade depth, and translucency.
- Shape and sculpt ceramic pieces to recreate tooth anatomy, including surface texture, contours, and bite-related details.
- Fire restorations at the appropriate temperatures in a kiln or oven, then complete polishing and glazing for strength, durability, and a smooth finish.
- Carry out final inspections to confirm the restoration’s fit, appearance, and function before it is delivered to the dental office.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is generally expected; training in dental laboratory technology or ceramics through a vocational school, community college, or specialized program is preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of dental ceramic materials, including how they behave and how to handle them during layering, shaping, and firing.
- Strong artistic judgment and color-matching ability to reproduce lifelike tooth appearance.
- High precision and close attention to detail are essential for producing restorations that blend naturally with surrounding teeth.
- Good manual dexterity for working with delicate tools and instruments.
- Understanding of lab safety practices, infection control, and relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to follow directions carefully and work well with colleagues and dental professionals in a lab setting.
- Practical experience or apprenticeship exposure in a dental laboratory focused on ceramic restorations is a strong plus.
