This is a remote contractual opportunity for a CAD specialist supporting a client project focused on AI hardware. The position centers on creating, reviewing, and improving 3D mechanical designs so they align with performance goals, manufacturing constraints, and compliance expectations. The work contributes to the development of advanced AI infrastructure and requires careful attention to detail and strong engineering discipline.
Key responsibilities
The selected professional will develop and refine 3D CAD models for mechanical parts used in AI hardware systems, perform detailed design checks to confirm structural strength, heat performance, and manufacturability, and work closely with engineering teams to resolve conflicts or incorporate input from simulations and testing. The role also includes preparing technical outputs such as drawings, assembly guides, and bills of materials, along with ensuring that designs meet industry norms and client-specific validation or certification requirements.
Required skills and experience
Applicants should bring at least 3 years of practical experience using 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Fusion 360. Experience with mechanical component design for hardware products, ideally in technology or AI infrastructure, is preferred. A strong grasp of GD&T and precision mechanical design practices is needed, along with the ability to convert technical specifications into production-ready CAD models. Familiarity with simulation and validation tools such as ANSYS or COMSOL for thermal and structural analysis is also important.
