The role centers on expanding business across European defense and commercial markets by developing senior-level relationships, uncovering new opportunities, and steering complex deals from first contact through signed contract. You will work closely with technical, marketing, and leadership teams to help present solutions that solve mission-critical operational problems. This position is well-suited to a commercially driven professional with a strong defense network who enjoys working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting. It includes substantial ownership, flexible work options, and the opportunity to support technology with tangible real-world value.
Key responsibilities
- Own the entire sales process, including prospecting, qualification, negotiation, and closing deals across defense, government, and commercial markets.
- Develop and nurture relationships with defense ministries, prime contractors, system integrators, and strategic industry partners across Europe.
- Deliver tailored product presentations, demos, and solution conversations based on customer priorities and operational requirements.
- Plan and execute outbound business development initiatives while partnering with marketing to increase inbound interest and pipeline volume.
- Track customer engagement, sales activity, and forecasts accurately in the CRM system.
- Represent the business at defense expos, conferences, trade fairs, and networking events to increase visibility and create new opportunities.
- Assist with proposals, procurement workflows, and contract negotiations tied to complex government and defense purchases.
- Work across functions to share market insights and support commercial strategy and product positioning.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a similar field.
- At least 3 years of business development or sales experience in defense, aerospace, or dual-use technology.
- Proven ability to manage lengthy, complex sales cycles and win contracts in European defense markets.
- A well-established professional network spanning European defense ministries, prime contractors, defense agencies, or systems integrators.
- Background in consultative, solution-led selling from initial outreach through contract award.
- Strong abilities in presentations, negotiation, relationship building, and proposal writing with both executive and technical audiences.
- English proficiency at C1 level or higher.
- Comfort working independently in a remote, target-driven environment while coordinating effectively with international colleagues.
- Prior exposure to government procurement, NATO-related organizations, UAV technologies, RF systems, SIGINT, electronic warfare, or spectrum analysis is a strong plus.
- Hands-on UAV experience or technical familiarity with defense technologies will be advantageous.
Compensation and benefits
- Total compensation in the range of $100,000 to $180,000, depending on experience, level of involvement, and performance.
- Commission-based earning potential tied to results.
- Equity participation in a rapidly growing venture-backed technology company.
- Flexible engagement on either a part-time or full-time basis, subject to mutual agreement.
- Fully remote work across Europe, with hybrid flexibility available where appropriate.
- High-impact work contributing to innovative technologies used in defense and security operations.
- A performance-focused culture built around autonomy, accountability, and professional development.
- Opportunity to collaborate with experienced professionals across technology, defense, and business functions in an ambitious international environment.
