Role Overview
Soho Square Solutions is seeking a business analyst to join the team in Montreal. The successful candidate will partner with business and technology groups to work with operational data, support testing activities, and help ensure the quality of key banking applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and define test data for testing activities.
- Create, update, and manage UAT plans, scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Share test matrix updates and status reports with department managers and the IT team.
- Act as the main owner of UAT-related documentation.
- Carry out user acceptance testing for cash management system requirements, including payment application processing for Wire, SWIFT, FED, and CHIPS messages.
- Test the sanctions filtering solution (EFS NX), ACH system, check processing application, and related reporting/dashboard outputs.
- Validate and compare large volumes of data in system-generated reports and dashboards.
- Log and track issues in JIRA and support defect management.
- Review software defects, analyze issues, and help drive timely resolution.
- Support senior subject matter experts within the team.
- Train and assist the Payments & Clearing Solutions Operations group on department applications.
Required Experience
The role calls for 3 to 5 years of UAT experience, along with 1 to 3 years in a corporate banking environment. Hands-on experience in test preparation and execution is required, as well as strong working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
Preferred Background
A stronger profile would include 5 to 7 years of relevant experience focused on IT analysis and testing, a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or Computer Science, and prior exposure to banking application testing, especially payment platforms.
