Role overview
This role is centered on running boutique operations smoothly while supporting commercial performance, team capability, and the overall customer experience. The position combines merchandising oversight, financial control, staff leadership, scheduling, and customer-facing problem solving within a luxury retail environment.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of store merchandising, financial administration, and day-to-day boutique operations to help deliver sales and operational targets.
- Lead, assess, and support the sales team by spotting capability gaps, planning development actions, and using structured coaching and mentoring approaches.
- Draft and share practical solutions for recurring customer concerns, making sure customers clearly understand the next steps.
- Build and maintain medium- to long-term work rosters while coordinating with multiple teams to meet business priorities.
- Set goals for direct reports, track team and departmental performance, and act on results to support annual business objectives.
- Put the department strategy and business plan into action while encouraging the team to align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Handle complex product and service configurations, negotiate terms, review proposals, and escalate unresolved issues when needed.
- Manage budget planning and delivery for the department.
- Design and improve order-processing steps to ensure a smooth customer journey.
- Plan sales calls, adapt presentations to customer requirements, gather relevant information, and close agreements with clients.
- Look for opportunities to expand customer accounts through additional products and services, with responsibility for meeting sales targets.
- Develop account relationship plans for complex clients and strengthen ties with key decision-makers and influencers.
- Track performance against health, safety, and environment indicators and resolve any non-compliance matters.
- Support diversity and inclusion requirements by using clear, accurate, and descriptive language in task and responsibility documentation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification.
- Extensive general work experience, along with deep job-related expertise in the relevant area.
- Proven ability to plan, coordinate, manage, and organize resources over short- and medium-term timeframes within an established policy framework.
- Strong experience level expected to operate with full competence in the role.
