Associate, Healthcare (SF based)

Role overview

B Capital is seeking a pre-MBA Associate to join its Healthcare AI team. This position supports the full investment cycle across opportunities ranging from Series A to growth equity. The role centers on research-led sourcing, sector and market analysis, evaluation of potential investments, and deep business and financial diligence, including advanced modeling work. The associate will work across healthtech and digital health and should bring a strong finance foundation, comfort with AI, and the maturity, adaptability, curiosity, and execution mindset needed to turn ideas into action.

What you will do

• Build market research and investment viewpoints that help direct sourcing priorities.
• Identify new healthcare investing opportunities using thematic research and market intelligence.
• Track developments and emerging trends in AI as they relate to healthcare.
• Review incoming investment materials and assess whether opportunities are viable.
• Take ownership of important diligence work across investment processes, including audit, tax, legal, and financial modeling tasks.
• Support portfolio companies in hands-on ways across several operating areas.
• Use the firm’s and BCG’s network to introduce companies to high-value customer prospects.

What the team is looking for

• A strong interest in disruptive technology and innovation.
• At least 1–3+ years of relevant experience, ideally in healthcare investment banking or in finance/BD operating roles.
• An undergraduate background in economics, data science, biology, biomedical engineering, engineering with a biology focus, biochemistry, or another relevant field.
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical capability.
• Finance experience is highly preferred; prior VC or PE experience is helpful but not essential.
• Comfort with being based in San Francisco or relocating there.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup with three days per week in the San Francisco office.
• Strong grasp of emerging technologies and a thoughtful view of where investable market trends may develop, especially in AI-enabled approaches.
• Ability to turn complex ideas and insights into clear, polished materials such as slides and written documents.
• Experience in detailed financial modeling, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis, plus quantitative market research such as valuation comps.
• Exposure to venture capital fundamentals such as cap tables, return modeling, and standard venture terms is a plus.
• An entrepreneurial mindset, along with strong judgment, teamwork, communication, and work ethic.

Compensation

The stated salary range is $110,000 to $130,000, with final compensation aligned to relevant experience. This range applies only to California candidates, and actual pay may change.
