Role overview
CHS is hiring an Assistant Store Manager for its Cenex® Zip Trip convenience store in Bozeman, Montana. In this position, you will support the store manager in overseeing daily store operations and contribute to the overall performance of store 46. The role calls for strong communication and management skills in a busy retail environment.
Compensation and schedule
This is a full-time position with overtime pay. The schedule is 45 hours per week over five days, and the timing offers flexibility.

Responsibilities
- Guide, train, and support team members in their day-to-day work.
- Help create a lively, high-energy atmosphere at the store.
- Deliver strong customer service by greeting shoppers promptly, assisting them professionally, and helping with product selection or checkout.
- Handle cashier duties such as taking payments and printing receipts.
- Arrange and present merchandise so customers can easily find products.
- Keep the store clean, stocked, and visually organized through dusting, cleaning, and replenishing shelves.
- Place product orders and monitor inventory levels as needed.
- Approve gas pump payments.
- Watch for and help prevent loss within the store.
- Support a strong safety-first culture by following safety rules, PPE requirements, training, and regulations, while reporting hazards and addressing unsafe behavior or conditions.
Minimum qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in retail, retail merchandising, or customer service.
Additional qualifications
- Willingness to work flexible hours.
- Prior management experience in retail, convenience, or fast food environments is preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English.
- Basic math and computer skills, including use of store systems such as cash registers and time/records software.
- High school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Comfort using MS Office Suite on a computer.
