Accountant

Role overview

This position is for an accountant to support finance operations within an FMCG business. The job is based in Abu Dhabi and requires working from the office full time.

Key duties

The selected candidate will handle routine accounting work such as posting journal entries, processing supplier invoices, and matching bank records. The role also covers accounts payable and receivable tracking, maintaining accurate books, and preparing financial reports.

In addition, the accountant will assist with monthly and annual closing activities, help with budgeting and forecasting, review variances, and support cash flow monitoring. Coordination with internal teams and external auditors may also be required.

The role includes following accounting standards, internal controls, and compliance requirements, while also looking for ways to improve efficiency and transparency in finance processes.

Qualifications and skills

Candidates should have a strong grasp of core accounting concepts such as ledger maintenance, reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting. Practical use of accounting software or ERP systems, along with advanced MS Excel skills, is important.

A good understanding of accounting standards and control processes is expected, ideally from FMCG or a similar industry. Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, numerical accuracy, and clear communication are also important.

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is required. Professional qualifications such as CMA, CPA, or ACCA are considered a plus. Previous experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or another fast-paced environment is preferred.
