Role overview

This role is with Babcock at its Henderson, Western Australia facility, supporting Defence sector operations. The position is part of a team that helps keep materials moving smoothly and ensures workshop support is delivered efficiently for critical Australian Defence programs.

What you will do

As a Storeperson, your work will be practical, varied, and hands-on. You will manage incoming and outgoing goods, maintain inventory accuracy, complete ERP transactions, and operate a forklift when required. You will also help keep the store area orderly and efficient, while assisting the workshop with tasks such as sandblasting, painting, ultrasonic cleaning, and other related duties. The role also includes working with local suppliers, supporting recycling activities, and helping review inventory usage for important components.

What we are looking for

Babcock is looking for someone who is dependable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving Defence environment. The right person will bring prior experience in a similar position, solid knowledge of warehouse operations, hands-on experience with ERP systems in day-to-day operations, a current motor vehicle licence, and a valid forklift licence. Because of the nature of the work, the candidate must be an Australian citizen and either already hold or be able to obtain a Defence security clearance.

Important conditions

This role is aligned to Defence programs, so the successful applicant must meet the requirements to obtain the appropriate level of Commonwealth Personnel Security Clearance under AGSVA guidelines. The position also involves working with, or being exposed to, US and Australian export-controlled technology, and compliance with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Australian Defence Trade Controls Act 2012 will be assessed.
