Role overview

Summerset is seeking a capable Village Assistant for its Milldale Village. This position plays a key role in helping keep the village safe, secure, and well supported, while serving as the first point of contact for village-related matters during a shift.

Core duties

• Respond promptly and calmly to medical emergencies as the first responder on site.
• Carry out general cleaning tasks to keep facilities tidy and well maintained.
• Complete administrative work such as paperwork, scheduling, and data entry.
• Coordinate with emergency services when incidents require external support.
• Keep watch over village security and act on any unusual or suspicious activity.
• Maintain clear, ongoing communication with the Village Manager.

Working arrangement

This is a part-time fixed-term position ending in February 2027. The roster is Sunday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

What the role calls for

The ideal person will bring a composed and confident approach, be comfortable working independently, and be able to make practical decisions quickly when situations demand it. The role may require working alone overnight and staying effective under pressure.

Candidate profile

You should be dependable, observant, and able to build trust with residents while keeping a steady presence in the village. Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm in emergencies are important. A current first aid certificate is preferred, and a full driver’s licence is required.
