UI/UX Shopify Designer - Commerce

Role overview

Fusion5 is seeking a UX/UI Designer who is passionate about crafting digital experiences that are both user-friendly and commercially effective. In this role, you will sit at the junction of design, technology, and customer insight, working closely with developers, consultants, ecommerce strategists, and clients to create interfaces that are intuitive, attractive, and built to deliver results.

You will be involved from the outset of each engagement, turning client needs into actionable design direction, facilitating workshops, developing concepts, creating prototypes, and confidently presenting ideas. The work spans branding, website enhancements, full rebuilds, and Shopify migrations, so the project mix will be varied and dynamic.

What you'll do

• Convert client needs into practical design briefs and lead the full design journey across branding, websites, and Shopify migration projects.
• Create user journeys, flow diagrams, wireframes, sitemaps, prioritisation charts, content structures, and interactive high-fidelity prototypes aligned to goals and budget.
• Develop mood boards and concept presentations that clearly communicate the creative direction before implementation begins.
• Produce polished, consistent, conversion-focused interfaces that reflect each client’s brand identity.
• Use data and insights to guide ongoing improvements to UX and UI decisions.
• Present ideas and final outcomes with clarity, helping clients understand the best path forward.
• Facilitate UX/UI workshops internally and with clients or external stakeholders.
• Refine designs based on feedback from clients and stakeholders to ensure strong final delivery.
• Partner with the Ecommerce Strategist on strategic planning and client roadmaps.
• Work with Project Managers to estimate effort, manage time against budgets, and escalate scope changes early.
• Prepare and maintain design documentation and provide content assistance where required.
• Help strengthen and evolve Fusion5’s internal design framework over time.
• Keep files, naming systems, and asset libraries organised and easy to manage.
• Support sales proposals, deliver client training, and assist broader team needs as required.
• Track billable and non-billable time accurately and highlight risks as soon as they arise.

You learn quickly, enjoy solving new problems, collaborate effectively without losing your own point of view, and keep the end user central throughout the process.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience in a UX/UI or similar design role.
• Strong proficiency in Figma and Miro.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
• Good understanding of interaction design, typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
• Experience working in structured project environments and delivering within them.
• Strong understanding of Shopify and ecommerce.
• Interest in continuous development, including the use of AI-assisted design tools.
