About the Organisation
St. Christopher's Services CLG delivers a community-focused, high-quality service for people with intellectual disabilities. Its approach is built around individual needs, with the aim of helping each person achieve the greatest possible independence, inclusion, and quality of life. The organisation is seeking staff who are dedicated to supporting people with disabilities and their families in a respectful, person-centred, community-based way that reflects its mission, national standards, quality practices, and evidence-informed care.
Role Overview
This position is for a Support Worker within the Residential and Respite & Children's Service. The role involves delivering person-centred support to service users, promoting independence, choice, and everyday wellbeing while working within a regulated environment. The post also includes helping ensure the assigned area operates smoothly and effectively.
Employment Details
This is a permanent residential services role for 35 hours per week.
Qualifications
A minimum of FETAC Level 5 in Social Care, Special Needs, Healthcare, or a related field is required.
Experience and Role Requirements
- Prior experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities is required.
- Experience and understanding of the residential, social, and recreational needs of people with intellectual disabilities are important for this role.
- Knowledge of advocacy and the use of individual personal plans or person-centred planning is needed.
- A full, clean driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to drive as part of the job.
- The successful candidate must be able to meet the competencies outlined in the job description and person specification.
